Getting started

1. 1Open Sign in and enter your email address. That address is how you get into the dashboard.
2. 2Open Setup and follow the steps to connect your playback service and TMDB key. Your player credentials are created for you.
3. 3Stay on Free with one primary user, or move to Plus for up to six total profiles, including your primary user, 35 sources and priority email support. Free allows up to 5 sources and no additional profiles.

Your server address, username and password appear in Setup after your configuration is created. Copy all three exactly as shown. Your player uses these credentials; your dashboard uses your email sign-in.

1. 1Open Setup in the dashboard. Choose your playback provider and enter its API key.
2. 2Add your TMDB API key (v3) for movie and TV details, search and catalogs, then choose Create my setup.
3. 3Connect optional accounts in Integrations. Then use Collections to choose streaming-service catalogs, genres and connected lists. Rename, reorder or hide collections to make your library your own. Each service includes Top 10 popular movies and shows, recent releases, highly rated movies, family movies and genres chosen for that service. Rankings use TMDB popularity among titles available in your selected country. Save existing collections to refresh their rows.
4. 4From Your setup, choose Open AIOStreams for sources, filters and sorting, or Open AIOMetadata for advanced catalogs and lists.
5. 5Finish on Connect and copy the server details into your player. Return to Provider & keys whenever you need to update a saved API key.

Portsyde never stores or hosts media. It keeps your configuration while your media stays with your sources and services. Playback goes straight to your device.

1. 1On the TV, choose Quick Connect on the sign-in screen. A six-digit code appears.
2. 2Open Setup in your Portsyde dashboard on your phone. Find Pair a TV with Quick Connect and enter the code.
3. 3Choose Approve TV. The TV signs itself in within a few seconds.

Codes are short-lived on purpose. If one expires before you get to it, go back to the TV and ask for a new one.

1. 1Open Setup → Integrations and follow the connection instructions for MDBList, Simkl or Trakt. Trakt currently supports lists only.
2. 2Turn on watch-history sync separately for a supported tracker if you want to send it your watch activity.
3. 3Reopen AIOMetadata after connecting an account so catalogs and Quick Add can use it. Watch in a supported app to update your enabled tracker.
4. 4To stop syncing, return to your setup and disconnect the service.

Easynews

1. 1From Your setup, choose Open AIOStreams.
2. 2In Services, turn on Easynews and enter your Easynews username and password.
3. 3In Addons, add Easynews Search, then save. It counts as one of your sources.

TorBox Usenet

1. 1You need a TorBox Pro plan and your own Newznab indexer (its address and API key). Use the same TorBox API key you entered in Setup.
2. 2Open AIOStreams. In Addons, add Newznab, enter your indexer’s address and API key, choose TorBox as the service, then save. It counts as one of your sources.
3. 3The first time you play a Usenet result, TorBox downloads it before playback starts, so it can take a while. Later plays of the same title start quickly.

Searches run from Portsyde’s servers, not from your home. Some indexers limit or block server and datacenter addresses, and every search counts toward your indexer’s daily limits, so check its rules first. Easynews accounts are for one person or household; don’t use an account that belongs to someone else. Portsyde keeps MediaFusion and Sootio on your debrid service, so your Easynews password is only used by Easynews Search.

1. 1Open Setup → Household and choose Add profile. Give the person a name and, optionally, an HTTPS avatar image URL.
2. 2Choose separate watch history or shared history with the primary user. Set an optional PIN of 4 to 12 digits and choose saved catalog and playback preferences. Copy settings from another profile to start with the same preferences.
3. 3For a person with separate history, choose Trackers beside their profile. Connect their own Simkl account using a sign-in code, or enter their MDBList API key. Turn on watch-history sync separately for each service. A profile with sync enabled uses one source slot. Shared-history profiles use the primary user’s trackers, managed in Integrations.
4. 4Choose Collections beside a profile to pick its streaming services, genres, names, order and country. Profiles can follow the primary user’s collections or save their own selection. Custom collections and tracker sync share one source slot per profile.
5. 5Save, then choose Connect beside the profile. Enter the displayed server address and username in the player. Use your setup password; if a PIN is set, add a slash and the PIN after it, like password/1234.

Profile changes can take up to 30 seconds to reach connected apps. Profile selection and switching depend on the player. PINs protect sign-in; the account owner still manages every profile. Copied settings start with the primary user’s collections and separate history, and do not copy a PIN or tracker connections.

When Plus ends, extra profiles pause and the primary user remains available on Free. Returning to Plus restores paused profiles when there is room and their names do not conflict.

The app cannot reach the server

Copy the full server address from Setup again. Keep the https:// prefix and /jellyfin path.

Sign-in is rejected

Copy your player credentials from Setup. You can show, copy or change the setup password there. For a household profile, choose Connect in Household. If a PIN is set, append a slash and the PIN to your setup password, like password/1234.

The Quick Connect code does not work

The code has probably expired. Ask the TV for a new one, and approve it from a device that is already signed in or from the dashboard.

A title will not play

Playback runs from your source to your device, so the source has to be reachable. Check the saved key in Provider & keys and confirm that your playback-service account is active.

Playback takes a while to start

Startup depends on the selected source, your playback service, the app and your connection. Try another available version and check your playback-service account if a title does not start.
